Privacy Policy
Brainfire is built to keep your thought content on your device and out of our billing systems.
This policy explains how TrueGainLLC (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Brainfire mobile app and this website. Questions or requests can be sent to brainfireapp@gmail.com.
Information in the app
Thoughts and settings. Thoughts you enter, their status and history, and your app settings are stored in a database on your device. We do not receive the text of your thoughts on our servers. You can type thoughts, use the share sheet, or choose on-device dictation.
Optional iCloud backup. On supported Apple devices, Brainfire can save snapshots of the app database to your iCloud app data so you can restore them on a fresh installation. Those snapshots include your thought text. Apple handles iCloud storage under your Apple Account and its own privacy terms. If iCloud is unavailable, this feature does not run.
Speech and notifications. Dictation requests on-device speech recognition. If on-device recognition is unavailable, Brainfire does not use server speech recognition as a fallback. Digest reminders are scheduled locally on your device and do not include your thought text.
Subscriptions. Brainfire creates a random app user ID on your device and shares it with RevenueCat to manage subscription status, purchases, restores, and entitlement access. Apple and RevenueCat process transaction and subscription information to provide billing. We do not receive your payment card details. You can read RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.
Information on this website
This website does not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or an account system. Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process standard request information such as your IP address, browser details, and request time to deliver and protect the website. If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send and use it to respond.
How information is used and shared
We use billing information to provide paid access and handle purchase support. We use support messages to answer your request. App thought content is not sold or shared with advertisers. Information may be processed by Apple, RevenueCat, and Vercel as described above, or disclosed if required by law.
Retention and your choices
- You can archive thoughts within Brainfire. Deleting the app removes its local database from that device; iCloud snapshots, if any, are managed separately through your Apple Account.
- You can turn off iCloud access, microphone access, and notifications in device settings. You can cancel a subscription through Apple; purchase records may remain with Apple and RevenueCat under their retention rules.
- For help with the random billing ID, support messages, or a privacy request, email brainfireapp@gmail.com. We may need enough information to locate the relevant record and verify the request.
Children
Brainfire is not designed as a service for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us through support, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as Brainfire changes. The effective date above will change when we publish a revised policy. Material changes will be explained in the app or on this website where appropriate.
